Ceausescu was a president-player. But what kind of president is Traian Basescu, since he too announces his intention to arrange referendum as often as he pleases and on any issue he thinks important ? At least seemingly, he thus proves his trust in citizens, in citizens' ability to discern, and also his distrust in the political class. In Basescu's view, the importance of parties and of the Parliament is diminishing due to a mechanism to use democracy straight by referendum. Are these intentions benefic to Romania's future ? Are they the expression of the President's well-meaningness, of his honest wish to learn people's opinions ? Or is what he intends to do a grotesque farce ? Or even a dangerous project ?”.

Although he became Romania's foreign minister last April, Adrian Cioroianu has often been remarked for his blunders. As for the latest evolution after the Roma-origin Romanian Romulus Mailat murdered Italian Giovanna Reggiani, the foreign minister seems to be same. Just one day after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had sent a press release announcing the minister, then in Egypt, had learnt the news, Adrian Cioroianu made a surprising or even racist suggestion on TV last Friday: those "who make us feel ashamed" should be deported to the Egyptian desert. When he realized what he had just said, the minister apologized instead of resigning“.

There is mentioned that the Reggiani case has enraged even the new Democratic Party so much that the claim shaped is to close the games and interrupt the migrants' flux.

The Brussels officials announced their view on the Rome government's ordinance effecting from the murder committed in the outskirts of Rome last Tuesday. The expelling of an EU state's citizens from another state must be grounded on individual motivations.
