Budget passing costs 700 million Euro – R.I.P. – Ziua – read here -“Radu Berceanu, a senator representing the PD (Democrat Party), accused yesterday that the PNL (National Liberal Party) paid the PSD (Social-Democrat Party) to pass the 2008 budget project: "2,4 billion ROL is the price he PNL paid to the PSD so that the latter would support the state budget for 2008 in the Parliament". He claimed this was why the PDL (Democrat Liberal Party) wouldn't vote for the budget. According to the senator, the PRM ("Greater Romania" Party) and the PC (Conservative Party) too got extra funds for one district each“.

In yesterday's meeting of the CSAT (Supreme Council of National Defense), the President of Romania Traian Basescu and PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu didn't agree on the means to purchase the new multirole plane to replace the old Soviet MiG-21”.

Golden curbs – Mihnea Talau – Ziua – read here -“ "I am giving you work and you don't buy from me ?" the mayor reportedly told the city authorities trying to obey the law. The administrator of a company part in the asphalting operation confirmed that he had actually been forced into buying granite curbs imported from China by the Titan Mar. The acquisition was done with no selection of offers, in spite of Ordinance 34/ 2006. Moreover, mayor Videanu sold the curbs for 149 RON per meter, although the current price used by his market opponents was 129 RON”.
