From "light Romanian", the fishy phrase that ex foreign minister Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu used to call the language spoken by the Moldovans, we have got straight to the "Moldovan language", as used by Adrian Cioroianu, Romania's foreign minister at present. Romanian diplomacy seems to be going from bad to worse. At first sight, two ministers who are historians by university education should need no explanations on why the existence of the "Moldovan language" mustn't be officially admitted”.

“… At about 3: 30 in the afternoon the two Romanian officials held a press conference, with President Basescu announcing that the EU finally had a Treaty now. He commented: "It is the outcome of the EU's 6-year efforts. I am sincerely glad that in the last 2 years we have been partners in this quest". He described the recently adopted Treaty as a means for the EU to become a juridical personality able to represent all the member states. He also added the Treaty enlarged the European Parliament's attributions as well as the part played by national parliaments in cooperation with the European Commission or the Parliament of Europe“.

The Romanian PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu warned yesterday that he would be watching the Parliament's debates on the uninominal vote draft. If they are slow, he pointed, the government may take responsibility for the law as soon as possible. He put it straight: "I can tell you that, if I see the Parliament is slow next week, the government may take responsibility and promote the law" ”.

Beyonce is to reach Romania tomorrow by no less than 3 planes. (...) One of the latter planes is an A 300 Airbus of 160 tones that cannot land on the international airport in Cluj-Napoca. The aircraft is to going to land straight on the Bucharest airport and the equipment will presently be carried to Cluj-Napoca by 5 five special trucks. The plane with Beyonce aboard is to land in Bucharest too”.
