Ford contract faces problems – C.S. & G.M. – Ziua – read here -“The government decided that Mihai Voicu, a minister for relations with the Parliament, would demand Romanian MPs to postpone the debate on the law draft concerning the privatization of the above-mentioned company with the US Ford. In the next meeting the Romanian minister is going to propose to the Senate official that the debate on the new law should be suspended until Romanian authorities receive a reply from the European Commission. The juridical committee and the finance-budget committee in the Romanian Senate have already consented to the law draft, which is now being analyzed by the privatization committee. Minister Voicu explained yesterday: "Legislative procedures will start from the same point, right after we get the European Commission's decision. I estimate that, once restarted, the debates will take about 3 weeks”.

This piece of information is outlined in the research "Romanian Seen through the Eyes of German Tour Operators", released yesterday by the WBF/GTZ, a programme for Romanian-German technical bilateral cooperation developed by collaboration between the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the GTZ. The research is based on data collected from the German tour operators who sell programmes for Romania. The WBF/GTZ representative Carmen Chasovski explained: "This year's results are rather unhappy. Unfortunately, the weak points identified 3 years ago are still present, whereas the strong points of tourism in Romania are fading away in the German tourist's eye". She announced the TUI, the FTI and the Neckermann, three great tour operators, dropped their promotion of Romania and no longer included the country in their catalogues”.

Still his name is on the list of high clergy records the ex Securitate burnt during the 1989 Revolution. The 16 records destroyed in December 23, 1989 were never found, as the Foreign Intelligence Service informed the CNSAS that there was no document about the persons on the list “.
