The trick – Sorin Rosca Stanescu – Ziua – read here -
“… There is one single explanation: Traian Basescu's battle for the referendum is just seeming. In fact, he is risking his credibility in an attempt to turn this event into an indirect electoral campaign to serve the Democrat Party. As predictable, his messages will be the same with those released by the latter party. Why would he do it? Because if the Democrat Party wins the election of MEPs and the local and parliamentary elections too, it will be easier for him to appoint a prime minister and become a player. And he will try to mend his harmed credibility until then in order to win a second presidential mandate. It is a trick”.

MPs undermine Romanian-American relations – Adrian Ilie – Ziua – read here -“The US ambassador's criticism of the way the Romanian MPs had passed the modifications on the Criminal Code made some Romanian politicians strongly react against Nicholas Taubman and accuse him of breaking diplomacy practices. Bogdan Olteanu, the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, was most vehement, claiming the way Taubman had become an ambassador didn't entitle him to teach lessons against corruption. After the attempt to withdraw Romanian troops from Iraq, it is also the Liberals who are on the foreground of this new story that may undermine the Romanian-American relations“.

US ambassador's criticism – George Damian – Ziua – read here -“The US ambassador to Bucharest Nicholas Taubman said last Thursday that the proposed amendments to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code in Romania were rather worrying for Romanians and for Romania's friends too. As for the amendments recently adopted almost without debate, he called them worrying as well. He claimed there had been no transparence for public opinion and no responsibility”.

The fraud – Sorin Rosca Stanescu – Ziua – read here -
“… Maybe the essential is not the fact that, even if partly, this company is a product of the secret services. I am trying no to pay too much attention to the fact that it employs General Macri, a successor of one head of the ex Securitate (Communist Secret Service in Romania). I am not even telling that "those who say that, since 1989, it has been the Securitate, but not the electorate who decided on elections, say the truth". It has been the same Securitate to decide it is time to change the rulers or not. The Securitate has also decided on the name of the President. The system made one single mistake: Emil Constantinescu. But he was soon dumped and driven away from Cotroceni Palace. Even if I ignore such details, there are three aspects I can't possibly disregard”.

The dunces – Sorin Rosca Stanescu – Ziua – read here -
“New ghost is haunting the media and striking back to the whole society: the rich journalist. The pretext of it is Bogdan Chirieac, a so-called case. They claim a journalist is not a journalist anymore if he is wealthy. It is now Bogdan Chirieac's turn to be pointed to and ritually sacrificed in the public square for something as dreadful as making a fortune. How can one be a journalist, if one isn't poor ? How can one get, apart from wages, money by capitalizing shares in the media field ? How can one be equal to the scholars, the great actors or sportsmen, to all those who have substantial gains due to their authorship rights ? Another dramatic dilemma fetched by the same ghost sounds like this: how can one be a rich journalist and also gain by doing business that has got nothing to do with the press ? And the fourth foolish thing has reached the market on the same occasion: Is a businessman who has got contracts with state companies honest ? I will be explaining the reasons for my belief that the makers of this ghost haunting the media and the Romanian society are dunces”.
